Minneapolis, MN –Since 1983, Environmental Information, Ltd. (EI) has surveyed the commercial hazardous waste management sector to provide environmental professionals with the ability to identify hazardous waste treatment and disposal services. EI completed its annual survey of commercial hazardous waste facilities in the West Central region (EPA Regions 6,7, and 8) and found that 72 commercial hazardous waste treatment or disposal facilities and 53 transfer stations were operating in the region.

The treatment and disposal facilities in the region have the capability to handle nearly all of the region’s hazardous waste management needs. A variety of methods are used to treat hazardous waste within the boundaries, with 24 of the commercial facilities offering more than one treatment service.
