EI Assesses the 52 Treatment or Disposal Facilities in the Pacific West

Region Depends on 26 Transfer Stations for Bulking and Transportation of Substantial Volumes of the Region’s Hazardous Waste

Minneapolis, MN — Since 1983, Environmental Information, Ltd. (EI) has surveyed the commercial hazardous waste management sector to provide environmental professionals with the ability to identify hazardous waste treatment and disposal services. EI completed its annual survey of commercial hazardous waste facilities in the Pacific West region (EPA Regions 9 and 10), and found that 52 commercial hazardous waste treatment or disposal facilities and 26 transfer stations were operating in the region.

The treatment and disposal facilities in the region have the capability to handle much of the region’s hazardous waste management needs. However, no thermal combustion units operate in the region. While most combustible waste is transferred, the remaining wastes are handled through a variety of methods. The hazardous waste facilities (some offering multiple services) are divided as follows:
