Minneapolis, Minnesota - Envirobiz (http://www.envirobiz.com) has implemented a new internet portal with a search engine dedicated to the specific purpose of assisting environmental professionals locate environmental services, equipment and technology providers. Envirobiz Search is designed to provide more accurate searches on the internet by minimizing non-related matches, eliminating duplicate matches, and allowing more precise environmental terminology to be utilized.

"Most major Internet search engines on the internet will provide over 900,000 matches to a search for ‘environmental consultant’. There definitely are not 900,000 environmental consulting firms, not even 9,000," says Envirobiz President Cary Perket. "If you look closely at the results of a search, you find countless non-related matches, duplicative matches, and some matches not in the environmental field. It is simply not user friendly."

"Unfortunately, many environmental service and technology firms are relying on these same major internet portals like Yahoo, Excite and AOL to bring potential customers to their site. Clearly, with 900,000 matches per search, the odds are against that happening. As the internet grows, the odds will continue to worsen." Says Perket, "Envirobiz Search is about improving the probably of a website being found by potential customers."

Envirobiz Search uses different approaches that make the Internet more user friendly and improve the prospects for participants. Envirobiz Search:

only accepts registration from environmental services and equipment technology firms;

only accepts one website registration from each firm,

uses a registration format that allows the registering service or technology to use precise wording to describe their services

uses separate search files for services, equipment and technology providers to eliminate mismatches caused by duplicate keywords used by both services and equipment technology firms.

"With Envirobiz Search, environmental services, equipment and technology firms will be solely identified on the basis of their descriptive content matches to the user’s search criteria," says Envirobiz’s Perket. "Unfortunately, it has become a necessity and prevalent practice for internet search services to bias search results in favor of major advertisers. Envirobiz Search is about empowering the users by presenting accurate and precise unbiased matches among potential providers."
