EI Hazardous and Universal Waste Facility Directory
Environmental Information Limited has provided the professional
community with directories on waste facilities since 1983. It very
first directory, Industrial& Hazardous Waste Disposal Firms,
focused on the commercial hazardous waste industry. This directory,
like its historical predecessor includes coverage of the full range
of hazardous waste boilers and industrial furnaces, fuel blenders,
industrial furnaces, landfills, metal recovery, solvent recovery,
and other treatments in both Canada and the United States. This
information is kept current as a result of EI continuing market
research studies of the hazardous waste marketplace for the EI
Digest.
During 2006, EI’s hazardous waste directory will be undergoing
some significant improvements. Amongst the improvements will be
the expansion of coverage to include facilities for universal wastes
like batteries, electronic equipment, and mercury containing devices.
In addition, a new query form will be introduced. The online directory
provides the option to search by:
- any specific type of facility
- national or state by state basis
- other types of waste accepted
Please visit our demonstration page to view a similar query form
being used for the Chartwell directories on Envirobiz.com.
The result of a search of the updated online directory is a list
of the names of the facilities matching the specified criteria.
If numerous facilities match the selected criteria, the search
results will be provided on multiple pages. Depending on the chosen
criteria for the search, the user may have the option of alphabetizing
the list by criteria other than the name of the facility.
Upon selecting a specific facility, the user is presented with
the available information on the facility. The same standard facility
profile is provided for each facility regardless of the search
criteria.
Each search is done solely on the basis of selected criteria.
No fee is charged to the facilities for being included in the directory.
The inclusion of a specific facility does not constitute an endorsement
of the facility nor is it intended to infer the facility is in
compliance with all environmental rules and regulations. It is
recommended that before using any facility, that further due diligence
is done on the facility.
The Environmental Information researches these facilities by telephone
and written surveys. The information about each facility in this
directory relies upon the accuracy of the information provided by
the facility. Likewise, the absence of information on a facility
is an indication that the facility has chosen not to provide the
information. Further information of Environmental Information’s
EI Digest and other databases are available on this website, Envirobiz.com.
