Company Background

Environmental Information Limited was founded in 1983 by Mr. Cary Perket. The business research firm’s initial focus was the compilation of information about the Environmental Services sector. The firm’s initial subscription-based research service was the compilation of basic information on environmental services firms into a reference directory, the EI Environmental Services Directory.

One of the specialized areas covered in the EI Environmental Services Directory was the management of hazardous waste and wastewater. In 1989, Environmental Information launched another subscription-based research service, the EI Digest. The EI Digest has evolved into one of North America ’s leading research services on hazardous waste and wastewater management.

Shortly thereafter, Environmental Information Limited also became involved in consulting assignments for individual customers and preparation of reports on specific markets. These assignments and special reports were primarily in the areas on hazardous waste and wastewater, industrial waste and wastewater and remediation markets.

Envirobiz.com was established in the early 1990s. Envirobiz.com is utilized by Environmental Information for online delivery of research services like the EI Environmental Services Directory and EI Digest. It also publicizes EI ’s special reports and other services.

In the early twenty-first century, the EI Hazardous Waste Facility & Generator Database was introduced to the marketplace. The database provides detailed information on the amounts and types of hazardous waste and wastewaters managed in the United States . It is derived from required biennial reporting by facilities and generators to the USEPA.

Each year, Environmental Information extends invitations to key executives in the commercial hazardous waste management sector to attend the EI Digest Gathering. This business meeting has evolved to become the largest annual meeting of hazardous waste executives. The annual business meeting overviews recent market conditions as well as special business topics.
